Meet Joe Kaminsky
Joseph Kaminsky is a first violinist in the Kammerguild Chamber
Orchestra, a member of the Bach Society Orchestra and a member of the St.
Louis Ballet Orchestra. Formerly a member of the Illinois Symphony, Mr.
Kaminsky has also played concertmaster of the Belleville Philharmonic and
the Kirkwood Symphony Orchestra. He has performed as soloist with the
Gateway Festival Orchestra, the Kirkwood Symphony, and the Kammerquild
Chamber Orchestra. He performed on tour with the Chautauqua Festival
Orchestra in Avery Fisher Hall in New York City. In demand as a free
lance violinist, Mr. Kaminsky has played backup to many artists including
the Moody Blues, Pavoratti, Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg, Ray Charles, Jimmy
Page, Dennis DeYoung, Bread, Sandy Patti, Tony Bennet, and Barry Manilow.
He is also kept quite busy as a violin teacher, teaching at UMSL,
Maryville University, in his home-based studio, at the Kirkwood School
District, and as a guest clinician in 28 states, Mexico, Canada, and
Japan. A proud father, his sons are named Nicholas and Daniel.
